If the best winner plays the first winner, then you certainly favor the guy who performed better in the last round. <br /><br />I'm not sure that guy is the best player (the secondary goals are probably more impacted by match-up, mission and luck than skill), but it certainly gives me incentive to completely crush my opponent. <br /><br />One of the appeals of a W/L/D tournament is that you don't have to crush your opponent to advance (unlike the old 1601+ VP objectives at Adepticon).
